Minturnae Terme di Suio Minturno Gaeta Formia Cassino Distance

Minturnae: Opening time: from 9 am to one hour before sunset. Less than 1 Km from the camping there is the archaeological park of Minturnae with the ancient Roman Theatre, the Forum and the Shops. The remains of the ancient Minturnae are settled near the border of Campania region. You can see remains of an waterworks of the 1st century A.C., of a magnificient theatre, of the Roman forum, of thermal baths, of walls. Archaeoligists are still working to discover new remains. | |
| Under the terracing of the theatre there is an Antiquarium
where very interesting tinds are showed such as marbles, ceramics, fragments and beautiful
marble statues from the 1st century B.C. to the 2nd century A.C. You can also see the section of the original Via Appia The Theatre has been perfectly restored and now it is used for theatral performances and during the summer time the best italian companies exibite on its stage |

| The Terme di Suio: the
sulfur thermal bath of Suio are known and used from ancient Romans and Greek and are less
then 10 Km from the camping. In Suio you can find different kinds of waters: cool
water, thermal water, ipo-thermal water and iper-thermal water. According to the different tratement choosen, the water in Suio are reccomended for skin diseases, for respiratory diseases and for different kinds of rheumatisms and arthritis. |

S. Pietro and Minturno:
Minturno Cathedral is devoted to St. Peter Apostle; with a latin cross plan and
three naves, was built up about IX century, rebuilt in the XII century, and it was
also restored during the XVI and XVIII century. Inside you can see some
frescoes from the XV century, Roman capitals and inscriptions, the Cappella del Sacramento
in baroque stile. The church is in the centre of a typical medioeval village, built up in the IX century; if you visit it, you can see many finds such as column, marbles and inscriptions from the ancient Minturnae, that was left by its inhabitants because of the continuos incursions of Longobards and Saracens. |
